SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. announced today that it has expanded its Laudus Funds line-up and its relationship with Mondrian Investment Partners Limited, by launching two new funds designed for institutional investors and 401(k) plans.

The Laudus Mondrian Institutional Emerging Markets Fund (LIEMX) and the Laudus Mondrian Institutional International Equity Fund (LIIEX) both began operations on April 25, 2008.

Now in addition to serving independent advisors and individual investors, Laudus Funds is pleased to be able to make Mondrians expertise available to the 401(k) and institutional markets through new funds designed specifically for them, said David Hogan, Client Portfolio Manager for the Laudus Mondrian Funds. The expertise of Mondrians top-flight investment management team was previously available primarily to the largest financial institutions.

The new Laudus Mondrian Institutional International Equity Fund (LIIEX) will invest primarily in non-U.S. large capitalization equity securities. The Laudus Mondrian Institutional Emerging Markets Fund (LIEMX) will invest primarily in large-capitalization securities in emerging markets. Both funds will follow Mondrians consistent value-oriented process that seeks to identify undervalued securities the manager believes will provide strong returns over a full market cycle.

As they are designed for 401(k) plans and institutional investors, the two new funds both have an investment minimum of $1 million. Subject to the expense limitation agreement, the net expense ratio of the Emerging Markets Fund will be no more than 1.27%, and the net expense ratio of the International Equity Fund will be no more than 0.90%.

Mondrian manages more than $60 billion in assets as of 3/31/08, and has been investing in international and emerging markets on behalf of major institutions since 1990. They follow a fundamental value-oriented, defensive investment philosophy that seeks real return while managing risk.

In November 2007, Schwab launched the Laudus Mondrian Emerging Markets Fund (LEMSX) and the Laudus Mondrian International Fixed Income Fund (LIFSX), both geared to independent advisors and individual investors.
