Schwab Establishes “Trailblazer IMPACT Award™” Recognizing RIAs Who Help Advance the Industry Through Visionary Leadership and Action
Public Company Information:
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of its continued commitment to registered investment advisors (RIAs), Schwab Advisor Services has announced the addition of the “Trailblazer IMPACT Award™” to its 2012 IMPACT Awards® program. The new award will recognize a firm that forges new ground in the RIA space by combining entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to advance the industry’s interests. This could take the form of community-based financial education, involvement with industry associations or advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., developing innovative approaches to serving evolving client needs or mentoring the next generation of advisors. The winning firm will receive a $15,000 donation to a charity of its choice and firm representatives will be honored at Schwab’s IMPACT conference, known as one of the nation’s largest and longest-running annual gatherings of independent advisors and those companies which support this fast-growing industry. This year's event will be held in Chicago, IL on November 13-16.
“Advisors are navigating their businesses across a shifting industry landscape,” said Jon Beatty, senior vice president, Schwab Advisor Services. “We want to recognize and celebrate trailblazing RIAs who are able to pave the way for the industry as a whole. This award honors a firm that is helping the industry reach new heights – either through special initiatives, or as a result of the passion and commitment that they bring to their business, clients and the industry every day.”
Schwab Advisor Services is an active advocate for RIAs, engaging in a wide range of efforts to support and advance the independent advisory industry. Activities include donations to non-profit organizations and universities, as well as providing a voice in Washington, D.C. on regulatory and public affairs issues impacting RIAs. Schwab Advisor Services honors leading RIAs and advisors annually through its nationally-recognized IMPACT Awards® program and is the driver behind RIAStandsForYou.com, a multi-media educational campaign that aims to support the independent RIA category and increase awareness of the independent advisory model among high net-worth investors.
